My chili "recipe":
2 pounds meat. 1 lb ground beef and 1 lb ground sausage works well. Venison is good too.
2 cans tomato sauce.
2 cans tomatoes. I usually use Italian-style stewed tomatoes.
2 cans kidney beans. 1 can dark red and 1 can light red yields more shades of red.
Some chopped celery.
Peppers. One habenero usually does the job, or three jalepenos, or a handful of smaller/milder peppers.
Brown meat with chopped onion. Put everything in the crock pot. Cook until everything in there tastes like everything else in there.
